Delete your Seto Market account

You can close your Seto Market account yourself, at any time, from the app or the website. This page explains how, and exactly what happens to your information when you do.

How to delete your account

In the Seto Market app — open Account, tap Settings, then Delete account and confirm.

On the website — sign in, open Account settings, then choose Delete account and confirm.

It takes effect immediately. There is no waiting period and nothing to cancel, so do it only when you are sure — we cannot restore an account once it is closed.

If you cannot sign in — write to support@setomarket.com from the phone number or email on the account, or tell us the number you signed up with. We will verify that the account is yours and close it for you.

What is deleted

Closing your account removes, straight away:

Your name, photo and bio — the profile other people saw.
Your phone number and email address — the number is released, so you can sign up again with it later if you want to.
Your sign-in — the account can no longer be used to log in anywhere, on any device.
Your saved searches and saved listings.
Your registered devices — so no further notifications are sent to you.
Your district and your verification records.

Your listings are withdrawn at the same moment and stop being visible to anyone — in search, in categories and on your seller page.

What is kept, and why

Your account record is emptied rather than erased, because some of what you did on Seto Market is also part of someone else’s history. Removing the record outright would break their copy of it — a buyer’s inbox full of conversations with nobody at the other end, or a seller’s rating silently changing after the fact.

Messages you sent — kept in the other person’s conversation, shown as being from a deleted user.
Reviews you left — kept against the seller you left them for, and no longer attributed to you by name.
Reports you made — kept so moderation decisions can be reviewed.
Payment records for any promotion you bought — kept because we are required to keep them.
The fact that a verification decision was made — the decision only. Identity documents themselves are deleted 90 days after a decision, or immediately if you withdraw the request before it is read.

Withdrawn listings are retained in the same emptied state and are not visible to anyone; an ad expires on its own after 30 days in any case.

Asking for a copy instead

If you would rather have your data than delete it, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it. Write to support@setomarket.com.
