Who can use it

You need a Nepali mobile number and you must be 16 or older. One account per person. If we close your account for breaking these rules you may not open another.

What you post

You are responsible for your ads and your messages. Post only things you actually have and may legally sell, describe them accurately, and use your own photographs of the actual item.

You may not list:

• Counterfeits, stolen goods, or anything you do not own
• Weapons, ammunition, or explosives
• Wildlife, wildlife products, or protected plants
• Prescription medicines, drugs, tobacco, or vapes
• Anything requiring a licence you do not hold — including foreign employment recruitment without a Department of Foreign Employment licence
• Adult services, or anything sexual involving a person

A free account may have 15 live ads at a time. Ads expire after 60 days. We may remove an ad, or hold it for review before it appears, and we may close an account that keeps breaking these rules. See staying safe for the detail.

What we are, and what we are not

Seto Market puts buyers and sellers in touch. We are not the seller, not the buyer, and not a party to your transaction. Specifically:

• We do not hold your money. There is no escrow. You pay each other directly, and we recommend doing it in person once you have seen the item.
• We do not inspect goods, and a listing appearing here is not us vouching for it.
• A verified badge means somebody here has seen a government document in that person’s name. It is not a guarantee that they will deal fairly.
• We cannot refund a bad deal, recover money you have sent, or force anybody to complete a sale.

What we can do is remove listings, close accounts, and give the police what we hold if they ask for it properly. If somebody has taken money from you, report it to us and to the police — we will help where we can.

Paying us

Promotions and advertising placements are the only things we charge for, and only if you buy one. Both are paid by bank transfer or QR against a reference we give you; we never see your banking credentials.

• A promotion starts when the payment is confirmed by a person, not the moment you send it.
• Before it starts, you can cancel for a full refund. Once it is running we refund the days that have not been served.
• If your ad is removed for breaking these rules, the promotion stops with it and is not refunded. If we removed it in error, you get the remaining days back.
• We do not guarantee views, clicks, enquiries or a sale.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You give us permission to show it on the site and in the apps, and to use it in search results and previews, for as long as you keep it posted. Delete an ad and that permission ends, though copies may persist briefly in caches and search engines we do not control.

Changes and closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may change these terms; if a change matters we will say so on the site rather than quietly editing this page.

These terms are governed by the law of Nepal.
